Job Post FAQ

Posting your jobs on Jobster

What is Jobster’s posting service?
Jobster’s posting service is a way to add your jobs to Jobster and to promote them above millions of other jobs that we aggregate from across the Web.

What are the benefits of posting my job?
Job postings are featured at the top of Jobster’s search results, inside job alert email notifications, on personalized user homepages, and across our growing network of 650+ niche job boards, blogs and other websites. Placements are automatically targeted to reach the people who are interested in your openings based on your job description, job tags, and location.

What kind of audience will my job posting receive?
Jobster.com receives more than eight million page views and emails one million job alert notifications each month. Jobster predominantly attracts U.S.-based, qualified job seekers from all job functions and industries. In addition, our growing publisher network of niche job boards, associations and blogs reaches high-quality candidates that you won’t find elsewhere.

My job is already on Jobster – why should I post my job again?
Jobster currently aggregates jobs from across the internet and indexes them in our search results. If we acquired your job by this means there are still advantages to posting directly to Jobster:

  • On average, your job will receive 20 times more applicants than indexed jobs by receiving more prominent placement on Jobster.com and through distribution across our publisher network
  • You will be able to view and contact potential jobseeker matches for your job for free
  • You will be able to track the source of your candidates back to Jobster

How much does it cost to post my job?
Jobster offers two different payment plans for posting. With our flat rate posting plan, you make a $99 upfront, non-refundable payment to post your job for 30 days. With our performance-based posting plan, you pay nothing upfront – pay only $10 for each applicant you receive while your job is posted on Jobster.

When will my postings expire?
All job posting expire after a period of time. Currently, flat rate postings expire after 30 days and performance-based postings expire after 90 days.

What countries and regions does Jobster’s posting service support?
Jobster only supports postings for jobs located in the United States and its territories and protectorates. Jobs posted outside the U.S. will be removed.

What kind of jobs can't I post?
Please don't post job listings for:

  • Work-from-home opportunities
  • Mystery shoppers
  • Barter or volunteer positions
  • Deferred pay positions
  • Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) jobs or positions that require a monetary investment by the jobseeker
  • Business opportunities
  • Jobs that involve illegal activities
  • Jobs that involve nudity

(See our User Agreement for more details on these and other inappropriate jobs). Please keep in mind that if you choose our flat rate posting plan and post an inappropriate job, we will not refund your posting fees.

Does Jobster allow external links in my job posts?
No, because of the way we track applications we do not allow external links such as apply-to links or email addresses in your job posting.

Can I add HTML to my posting?
No, not at this time. If you include HTML tags, they will be displayed as text.

What are skill tags?
Skill tags are keywords used to describe the skills and qualifications required for your job, and they're the best way to find your ideal candidate on Jobster. We use skill tags to make our search results better and to find a match between your job and Jobster users.

When will my job appear on Jobster?
Your job should appear in our search index within 30 minutes of posting.

How will I be notified when a candidate applies for my job?
Jobster will email you whenever candidates apply for jobs on the Jobster.com website. Detailed applicant information can found by clinking on the link provided in the email notification or at any time from the My Job Posts tab visible when you are signed in to Jobster.

Am I charged for my posting even if I receive unqualified candidates?
Jobster controls candidate quality by targeting your jobs to jobseekers with relevant backgrounds and interests. However, like other job boards, Jobster cannot completely control candidate quality and so it’s reasonable to expect that you will receive some unqualified candidates for the total cost of your posting.

How do I delete my job?
You can delete any of your active jobs at any time from the My Job Posts tab visible when you are signed in to Jobster.

How am I billed?
If you are using our flat rate posting plan, we will charge your credit card upfront and email you a receipt at the time of posting. If you are using our performance-based posting plan, we will charge your credit card and email you a receipt as you receive applicants. If you are using our performance-based posting plan and don’t receive any applicants, you will not be charged.

Can I be invoiced?
Jobster only offers credit card billing for routine job posting. If you have more than 20 jobs that you would like to post, we can invoice you in lieu of credit card billing. Please contact us at bulkposting@jobster.com to inquire about our bulk posting options.

Does Jobster provide a feed interface for posting my jobs?
Yes, if you have more than 20 jobs that you would like to post. Please contact us at bulkposting@jobster.com to inquire about our bulk posting options.
